I am pasting pics of 2 tanks below. Need help choosing either one of these or a new one:

This one I can pick up tommorrow for only $50 USD, they are moving. My concern with this one is the hexagon shape has more panels....does this mean more chance for leaks ?

What should I look for when examining the tank ?

What thickness of glass should it be to be of high quality ?

This one is $200 USD, cool part is it is cycled already. Told her I didn't want the fish. Comes with everything else.

My other choice is a 65 gallon I seen at store for sale price of $130 USD. I would then need to buy cover/lighting, etc. and my husband would build me a nice sturdy stand. Would cost a bit more than prices above, but more sense of mind.

What is your experience with used tanks and possible leakage disasters ? We have new wood laminate floors, so this scares me !

Your hex tanks are usually a more high end tank, and from what I've seen are constructed a little better than your plain rectangle tanks. If it has never been moved with water or gravel it probably is a solid tank, and is a good deal for $50.

With used equipment there is no guarantee, though I've heard of new tanks leaking. Nothing bad, just a little trickle, with no major flooding or water damage. I would trust the used hex before the used rectangle.

If the 65 gallon you are looking to buy is an All-Glass product, it has the same glass thickness as an Oceanic, which is a premium tank. This is the tank I chose for my living room, with while carpeting, 50+ year old oak flooring, and a family room beaneath that is finished with drywall. I also built my own stand, I do not trust store bought stands. This is the only tank I have upstairs, if there was ever a water problem I would be sleeping on the couch for the rest of my life.

I don't think sleeping on the couch even would be an option for me ! LOL

Thank you so much. I am going to examine the 65 gallon tank again. It is length of the 55's but taller which would be better for the angelfish anyhow. Pretty much set on building our own stand as well. Husband is so paranoid he is going to put a drain with a hose leading to a bucket in it. Also wire it for me with the outlet built inside. I hate all the ugly cords.

Guess I am going to ned to be more patient  want 'em now !
