Help me identify my betta.

I find that my betta is a male, but they sold me a female. Im kind of confused. If someone can help who knows about the subject, it would be awesome.

That picture is 100% a male, I have one that looks exactly like him. I believe the common cheap bettas like this one that you get at pet stores are called veil tails? Not 100% sure though. Nice fish though!
