Ok. Hi. My name's Leah. I have decided to save up my money to buy a saltwater fish tank. I get $8 a week in allowance. Cost IS an option, but if it's something that will benefit the fish greatly for not too much of a price difference, I'll go for the better thing. As I see it, there are 3 options. (Just so you know, to me, $100 is a LOT)

Option 1: A 10g nano tank
Pros:
- less cost to set up
- i know exactly what I want it to look like
- i already have the 10g tank
- i'm up for a challenge
Cons
- may cost more over time in mistakes
- requires more daily maintenance
- won't be able to have as many of the fish i want
- i think this might be TOO much of a challenge

Option 2: A 55g tank
Pros
- i already have the 55g tank
- once it's stable it won't be as likely to crash
- requires less daily maintenance than a 10g
- will be able to hold many fish
Cons
- will be much more expensive to set up

Option 3: A 30g tank
Pros
-in between on cost and difficulty
Cons
- I'd have to buy the tank

Also, I kind of want to put goldfish in the 55g.

Honestly, I'd go with the 55gal or your going to give up on the high maintenance of probly water changes every two days. Just save up a little bit more, and ask ur parents to give you a little head start on it. Don't forget to promise to take care of it :good:

They already know I'll take care of it lol. I have a 30g freshwater tank that I'm almost obsessed with.

Go the 55. The 10 gallon is going to get real lame and boring when you cant put much n it, trust me. The 30 is still ok, but the bigger the better, even forgoing water stability, in just the capabilities for stocking.

Being short on cash can be a blessing in disguise if you look at it right. It will force you to research your options and stock slowly, thus being less likely to have a disaster :)

Lol... but I really wanted the 55 for goldfish.... Now ANOTHER desicion... :S

We have a 30 galon and i quite like it, (although we are upgrading to a larger tank sometime next year.
but as with any fish tank you should go for the biggest you can, so the 55 would be better.
