Hi All,

I've recently brought what I thought was a candy striped goby - but now im not so sure.

I've taken some pix - sorry their not that great - normal digital camera is being repaired.

Does anyone know what kind he is? (I have two)

Hi All,

Looks like I have two female gudgeon's.

I've looked them up on the below link, and they look almost identical.

the only thing I now need to know, is how important is it to have a male in the tank? Can two females get along ok longterm?

Also, do these count as true goby's?

It looks like a young Batanga lebratonis or as they are sometimes commonly called a Clay goby. They are members of the Eleotridae family or sleaper gobies as they are often called. Two females should be fine together, just make sure you have at least two caves so each one can have a territory.
