Hi all

I am new to the forum but have been reading it for a while now, posted for the first time last night about a poorly ram which died within 3 hours. Anyway, I was sold 3 of these fish as twin spot barbs, done a bit of research and it aint those! I thonk the ram died due to high ammonia, due to overfeeding due to my wife feeding them everyday as this particular fish start trying to eat the neons and other tetras if no flake food goes in!! Any idea on what it is and how big they get? I have 3 in a juwell lido 120 litre.

Any help would be great

oh great, how do I add a picture?? lol

The fish for what its worth has a black spot at the end of its body near its tail, is silver in colour and on the top and bottom of the tail there is a black and reds spot next to each other. Very greedy fish, very active, will try and add pic when I find out how too!!

Sounds like a Black Spot Barb

Do i get cookies?

yes could be a black spot barb or better know as a filament barb (barbus/puntius filamentosa).
if so they need a lot of length to swim, at least 4ft, more is preferable.

great fish that spawn at the drop of a hat but very very active

good effort!! They are the greedy little so and so's. The shop new I had just bought the juwell lido120 and bear in mind I go in there alot, pretty cheesed off if they are going to get to big for my tank. They are constantly hungry and if it dont go in, they start nipping at the dwarf rainbows or the small tetras we have, any ideas?

I really hope that you are close to me, I currently have a m/f pair that I wish to add to.
please say you are in or near kent UK, so I can take them off your hands :)
