Hey Guys,
I saw this Betta picture, and really liked/wanted this fish. No longer available , owner didn't know name of strain.
Is this a common color for a betta ? Marble ? Butterfly ?
If I were asking about a fish to a breeder, how would you describe him. ?( other than kinda yellow, red , black CT)
Help me out folks. Thanks
KF

He's DEFINITELY a marble, but I've never seen one quite like him. I'd probably start by calling him a black, red, and white marble....

Thanks Allix for the crown tail ( CT ) part . I'm trying to figure out the color /combo ???.

You're right Allix , that will work. I'm not talking to/about any breeder in particular.
I know we have some very knowledgable betta folks who post on this site. I'm hoping, someone would recognise the type and tell me where to find another,or what to breed to get one.
Thanks KF

It would be quite difficult to describe him to a tee. He's definitely a multi-colored marble. He reminds me of the American flag bettas or the Thai flag...aka Fourth of July bettas or Patriot....but only to a certain point. They're blue instead of black.

They're oddities that usually pop up in an opaque line,or pastel or marble. If you can get two alike you can try to duplicate the originals.

As for telling you which colors to start with to work towards that particular ideal black, red and white fish...I personally would start with a black and white marble and a red. Possibly a red and white marble and a black.

I still believe that to be blue though.

yes im with wuv i would say thats a very dark blue showing black on this photo due to light.....would describe him as a multi---colour marble...ct dr...... :D
