Hi, I keep freshwater tropical fish in a 22 gallon tank. I have 10 neons, 2 silver sharks, a plach/loach an Angelfish 2 black fish (dont kno names) and 2 orange barbs I think ?
I recently discovered that one of my fish (it is quite small, and black, I dont know breed sorry :() had ich, and I am afraid it may have caught onto my silver sharks, aswell as other fish! I had this problem with my goldfdih, but I presume its a different method of treating? please can you help me, thanks alot!

:dunno:

Do you have a QT tank? If so, it's best to move the infested fish in there so it will not spread throughout the rest of the tank. Then you can medicate this tank without affecting the other fish.

You can slowly raise the temp up to 80 degrees F, raise it a degree each day. This will speedup the lifecycle of the ich. You can perform gravel cleaning and 10%-15% water change each day, which might last up to 2 weeks. This will suck up any ich cysts that drop on the gravel floor and also any free swimming ones.

If you are unsure of the fish species, then you will have to be careful with using medications.
