Leaving a tank for a month with no one to watch over it... Bad idea . How big is the tank (in gallons) andwhat filtration is in there? What are you going to do about food and water top-up?

yeah a week or so is OK, a month I'd be worried about. The filter could probably just about last a month without cleaning but as for feeding the fish and doing water changes someone should be doing something over the space of a month. You need to arrange for someone to go in and look after them.

Hi Guys

The tank i have is juwel 120lit, I can get someone to feed the fish when we are away but not to clean or change filters. I have 12 fish in the tank.

I thought there might be a filter system out there the requires cleaning once a mounth.

Cheers

You can get away with leaving your filter on a freshwater setup for a month so long as you clean it upon return. The largest problems are feeding and water topup which if done for you could make this work.

If you have bio-foam in your filter, it should be fine for a month. if you are worried about a water top off, I would fill it up as far as you can, lower the temperature as low as your fish can safely handle it, this should help you out. I have left my tank for 2 weeks using this method, and with someone feeding the fish you should be fine. Remember, with the temp lowered, your fish metabolism will slow down, so becarefull with the food rations. I hope this helps.Just throwing my hat in the ring.
