:dunno: I have a 10 gl tank and i have two yellow lab cichlids and a red platy my tank has been up and running for about 5 months now and the water has a tint of yellow in it how do i fix this (the water has been much cleaner before) wat should i do I have tried a 25% water change and it didn;t work. could it be an algae build up? :dunno: :band:

Didnt you just post this 3 days ago?

We ask you for your exact water parameters and other things about your tank and you did not answer!

We cant help you without all info about your tank.

Hmm, if you've got a yellowness to your water, then it may depend on what you've got in your tank. Driftwood, bogwood, sand substrate, gravel substrate etc. At a guess, you've got bogwood/driftwood, am I right?

If so, then this wouldn't do your fishes, or your tank, any harm. If you don't like it, just keep doing those water changes and, over time, it'll lessen further.

If I'm wrong in my assumption. like Canarsie11 had asked, you'll need to identify what the water parameters are, and further, how're your fishes doing/reacting? :)

Hang on... Did you just say yellow labs??? And a platy???

Yellow lab's are malawi chichlid's and are eventually going to kill your platy as far as i know. You CANNOT mix malawi's with normal tropicals !!!!!
