Ok. I got home and the carpet's soaked. I've put all my fish into giant tuppawear thingy so they're fine.

I need to know how to find the leak. how to fix it. Has it happened to you. just any good advice basically. :D

So far, I've taken everything out of tank and have put it on the floor on newspaper. I'm filling it with water, so if it dribbles, I can see where from. I've bought aquarium glue.

Basically, i'm a girl, :*) I don't know about this stuff. If I can't see where it's leaking from, what do I do? :look:

If anyone's done this before or if you've got any ideas, it really would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my tanks only about 7 months old - I bought it brand new. why would have this happened already. :dunno:

Ok. thanks heaps for any advice!

its not to hard to find the crack, empty the whole thing take it out side and pour enought water in it soyou can hold it up then look to see where it is leaking from.
To seal it up you will need a silicon that is used for aquariums sorry but i cant remember the name BUT it does say it on the front of the bottle! goto a harware shop and they will know witch ones they are.
To seal it up get a peice of glass thats the same size as the crack, make sure its thin. Then apply the silicon to the inside and outside of the crack. after that get the small peice of glass and make a "Z" patten with the silicon attach it to the out side of the tank then seal around it. Wait 72 hous then add the water and fish back in.
If its a leak where the sides of the tank meet, then ignore what i said above and just re-silicon up the side or where ever it is. But always wait 72 hours, you will know its ready cause the silicon turns white.

if the tank is only 7 months old it should still be under guarantee, send it back to the shop!!

i just replied to this in the hardware section and i said to take it back too!!!!!!

I would take it back too. In the meantime, Take everything off of the newspaper and put in in water especially make sure you filter stays wet! You don't want all your beneficial bacteria to die or else you will have to start over from new.

How big is the tank. If its a ten gallon you can fiz the leak with silicone but if its any larger I would trust just repairing it or else the same thing might happen again! Either take it back or buy a new one.
