Hi I had 13 guppy fry born on the 2/3rd of may and were doing really well but i have discovered 2 are dead (Pointed tails and flat bellies 1 of the fry's eyes is hanging off!!!) which i have put aside for closer examination.

All others are doing well (these are spade/rounded tails) i had this problem before and lost the whole batch. This time they are from a different mother but bought in the same place (possibley the same father?)

All water is fine checked ammonnia, nitrite & nitrate for problems, salt is already in the tank.

Could someone 1 help me find the root of the problem?

:| the clamped tails again :| i'm afraid bigfish there is nothing you can do :( hopefully some of this lot will survive. This is one of the reasons I no longer keep many guppies due to all the interbreeding done to get the massive array of colour the inbreeding has weakened the genetic line and now they are very weak fish where as in the wild they come from ditches and other inhospitable places!! Hang in there, there is nothing you can do but watch :( There are always some weak fish in each litter and in the same thread there usually are some strong ones, I hope some survive for you :( If not try platies as they are a much stronger fish and don't suffer from this problem.

well its only the pointed tails that are dying on me at the moment everyone else looks ok so far so good. I have 4 pregnant platies as we speak and just half way through me thinks. So im excited at this prospect.

Thanks for all your help william.
