Hi All !

I just had a quick question.

I have a 10G tank that has been up and running for about a year now, no problems at all !

I also had a betta on my desk at work.

I got layed off last week so I had to bring the Betta home. Right now he is on my dresser in a betta tank, however my 6 month old kittens will NOT leave him alone!

I have to baricade the tank otherwise they will push it to the floor.

I came in my room today and found the little tank just INCHES from going over the edge!

I have to move this tank QUICKLY but have no where to put it where the kittens can't reach it.

Is it okay to put the Betta in with my tropical fish??

I only have 3 platies in there and a baby mollie that....believe it or not.....is almost a year old and still only an inch long!

They are two male platies, 1 female platie and a female baby mollie.....if that matters! :fun: I don't know if the Betta is a male or female though.... :/

Thanks for your help guys!!!

Heather

Betta's don't like strong currents, you could try him in the tank but he might not like it, good luck with kittens and fish.

 I suggest u lock the kittens out of the room! And If you can't do that, Put the fish in an enclosed room and get a place to set it on if you can. Otherwise, close the door! ;) In the meanwhile teach your kittens that it is very bad to go near the fish. My kitten killed my beta by knocking the vase over! I spray him with water everytime he jumps on the same counter, even without the fish on it so he knows to GET OFF

It only took once for my cat to learn not to scratch my fish stand. I have a bottle of Axe on my desk, when he scratched, I sprayed him. Every time he scratches now, I just show him the bottle and he's 3 rooms away.

go ahead and add him. if there is a strong current, he may not like it but its better than ending up on the floor, right? you can always take him out. OR you could try moving him to a higher shelf?
