Help For 100% Water Change

Ok i did have a filter and substrate in the new bettas tank, the vt didnt really like the current so i took the filter out, and the substrate after advice.

Ive just done a 100% water change, put the betta in a cleaning tank, cleaned silk plants. then replaced water with tap conditioner and added aquarium salt (1 tea spoon).waited to heat up to 25oC then put back in.

questions are

1. did i do it right?lol
2. when should i clean him out next?every 2days?..ive never kept one without a filter in and im a little hesitant, so i just want to make sure he's ok.

How big's the tank??

If it's a 1gal then 2-3days water changes.

its a 2.25gal..i must admit he looks happier

When I used to only have one betta got 6 now I used to have a spare tank and just fill the spare one up and pop him in it after a couple of days and then fill the other one up and so on..cant do that I have to fill a bucket up and change about once a fortnight! Unless they are really mucky!

I would say every 4 days and you'd be fine.

Yes,
But there are methods to stop the current,
Try buying some cheap tights wrap it round where the current comes out and stick a filter sponge under it to blocke the current further- then turn the head of the filter to face towards the glass/plastic.
