Help!?! Emergency With Betta

Help!

My little crowntail that i've had for a a few months is really sick/ acting really strange/struggling to breathe.

He's lying flat on his side on the bottom of his bowl breathing very heavily and when i moved the bowl he just kinda flopped over to teh other side. He's looks completely normal, all coloured up, no red gills, etc, everythign looks okay, no swollen belly either. his one eye looks a littel sunken but i'm not sure whether or not he's always had that.

I had another crowntail die this exact same way a few months ago, so i'm trying to save this guy. I've changed the water in case there was something in that water, and put him into a different bowl.

Any ideas what so ever?

wen was teh last time u did water changes previous to him becomeing ill? is it possible that anything could have gotten in his water? did u purhaps put ur fingers in teh water during feeding time or somthing? u have made it sound pretty sudden, im thinking somthing odd got into his water.

what are ur parameters? PH Temp Amonia/nitrate est.

has he been acting werid resently at all? spending alot of time at teh top, not eating, lazy?

what is his tank like?

He passed away

I had just changed the water on saturday, so it was pretty clean, i used tap water condition and cycle.

I don't think anything weird got into his water, his bowl is right beside my computer and his tank is fairly water, i had a lamp over it.

I just moved back into my house of rth ewinter semester, so he paled out during the trip, and the first day back, then he got all his colour back, made a little bubblenest so i thought everything was okay.

It's really strange though, i had another crowntail, fromt eh same petstore that did the exact same thing a few months ago, is there a genetic problem like a sudden death syndrome?

im sry to hear of ur loss, i really dont know what to tell ya. it sounds like he was perfectly happy and as far as i know there is no sudden betta death syndrome. iv lost a perfectly healthy betta from exhaustion before, left a mirror near his tank for him to flair at for a little while and i forgot about it, the lil guy gave himself a heart attack or sumthing because he was dead at teh bottom of his bowl. did u have like a mirror he was flairing at for an extended period of time?
