Okay, so I recently bred my betta fish, there is at LEAST 50 fry hanging down from the nest, but my guess is about 100.. anyways, I didn't really think they would end up spawning, so I was unprepared and didn't prepare cultures... I will be buying frozen food most likely today or tomorrow, however I had read something online about feeding them egg yolk... if someone could inform me step by step on how to do this, that would be lovely. they are still hanging down from the nest so i'm assuming I don't feed them until they are free swimming and the male is out.

You do not need to feed fish fry until the egg sack has completely gone. When I have fry I use frozen cyclops or use a pill crusher to crush normal food into a powder for them.

Frozen bbs also works well. Egg yolk really fouls the water and I suggest you not use it.

But to answer your question, if you did want to use egg yolk, hard boil an egg and take a piece of egg yolk and place it in a pot, and a small amount of water from your tank add it to the pot and mush up the egg, when it's a fine paste you can use a syringe to or a pipet to feed the fry, when they are free swimming you can also add some in a fine mesh bag tied to a bit of string where the fry can pick at it.

Thanks for all of the help. im hopefully buying some frozen food soon.
