I am in the process of making a polystyrene
Background for my juwal Rekord 120 tropical tank.
I used tile adhesive grout 3 layers. I would
Like to know what to use to seal the structure
To make it waterproof. I have been looking
On different forums mainly USA but want to know
What we can use in the UK that will be safe!

Pond paint is most commonly used like this

I bought a tin of G4 pond sealer as it is clear.
Would this suffice or is the paint you recommend
Available in clear as I want the colour
Of the grout to show through

No I think what you bought is appropriate, if its safe for ponds it's safe for your tank, good luck

At weekend. Will it ok to use
A spray gun to apart sealer on??

G4 is good stuff. ive used it to make my reptile backgrounds waterproof and i know alot of people use it for this purpose. i cant see a problem with it being used in a tank. let it cure for a week or so (preferably in the garage) cos it stinks! would probably give it 2 or 3 coats as well. just to be on the safe side

Just don't let the G4 sealer touch the polystyrene - it will melt it!
Found that one out the hard way
