Hi

I think my platy is sick. She has what seems to be a white patch near the mouth and yesterday I noticed 1 little bump by the gill. Could this be ich?
Any suggestions on what I can do? Is this contagious for the other fish in the tank?
Would aquarium salt help? I put some in the tank already.
Should I seperate this fish from the other fish? I don't have anywhere I can put this one at this time. I will have to buy a container for the fish. Setting up another tank is out of the question at this time.
Also, I think she might be pregnant. Well, I am not sure anymore. Also, she has an opal like shine to her skin which I have noticed from the last few days.

Thanks in advance!!

Could be mouth-rot. If you run a dose of myxazin or and treatment for external problems on the fish, remember to remove the carbon from the filter when you use the treatment. The bump by the gill, could be the start of an ulcer, keep a close eye on it. If you have any anti-ulcer treatment, use that, it should clear up the mouth-rot too. Most anti-ulcer treatments get ingested through the mouth as well as treating the outside of the fish,so they work both internally and externally.

With regards pregnancy. Are the scales puffing out like a pine-cone? If yes then it could be dropsy, if not then its most likely its pregnant.
