I have a 10 gallon tank and now 3 columbian shark. the people at walmart told me they would grow a couple of inches and 6 at max. I have read today that the can grow up to 2 feet long !! will they stop growing and adapt to my tank? what kind of equipment will i need for these sharks and what other fish are good with them ? also any specifications to follow to keep them healthy? thanks alot.

To keep your sharks you are going to need a minimum of a 75 gallon saltwater aquarium for them when they are adults. In the wild as these fish grow they make their way down river until they enter the sea where they stay for most of their adult life until they want to breed and swim back up into freshwaters. In a aquarium if the salt content of the water isnt raised as they grow they get ill and die, by the time they are 4 inches long they should already be in brackish water with a SG of at least 1.005.
If you cant see yourself having a large brackish aquarium within the next 6 months then you should return your sharks to the store where you bought them.

thanks alot for the info ! i guess i'll have to return them..... :( so what kind of fish should i have in a 10 gal ? or i might get a 30 gal. any suggestions ?

A 10g really limits you to just a few small fish and nothing with a larger adult size than 3 inches really, a 30g gives you much more choice in stock and allows you to keep fish up to a adult size of 6 to 8 inches.
As for suggestions only you know what you like, if i had a empty 30g i would stick 10 Exodons, 3 dwarf giraffe catfish and a couple of decent sized sleaper gobies in there but thats just what i like.

bahahahahahaha i did the exact same thing wehn i started.

took my parents 10g from the addict cycle it and went to buy 3 columbian sharks from wal-mart!

i had to sell them.
