Hi! I wanted to post in the emergency section but thought i'd get no help there so here I am.

I just went to feed my fish, and noticed my still young African Albino Frog sorta floating around and he is bloated up like a balloon. I went to fish him out thinking he had the biscuit, but he swam off. I picked him up, and he literally looks like he is gonna pop. I can see through his skin under the light where there are big air pockets. What do I do? And why did he bloat up like this in the first place? Any quick answers are very much appreciated, I don't want to lose him but I can't see him living through the nite like he is.

I am afraid I can be of no help with the bloating but is he a african clawed frog? If he is the one in your pic then it seems he is and will grow big enough to eat fish (6" approx) I hope he gets better but you might want to think about moving him when he gets older.

Great link, thanks!

I already have an adult african albino, so yes I am aware that they are fish eaters. The sick one is still a baby and I will move him into the other tank with the adult when he is older.

I'm sorry to hear that, I joined the forum yesterday to ask for advice as we too have a gold albino frog that's bloated up to the size of a golf ball overnight.....
