HELP - All home remedies for swim bladder request

Alright, had to go pay the phone bill and my phone company is next to petco so I stopped in. I picked up 2 Black Phantom Tetra for $0.99 each and 1 Oto. Well, one of the tetras is definitely suffering from Swim Bladder. A trip of 3 hours in a back pack was sure not a help though.

Any remedies I might have around the house please list.

I have never had this problem, but I am pretty sure it is something like half a pea (the kind in your freezer, not a can).

Actually, it may have just been the water in the bag, I hope. He was swimming all topsy turvy and stuff when I checked him an hour ago and was still doing it when I got home. I did a rapid release, I know you shouldn't do that, but I did and he is swimming fine now. Hopefully he stays that way.

And I don't have freezer peas, I think I need to buy a bag to have on hand though.

I think the peas can help constipation. I've never heard of them working for swim bladder (doesn't mean they couldn't, though...).

Interesting and good to know. Also appears that constipation can lead to swim bladder, which would explain why the pea would work...

how do you get a fish thats stressed and faloundering around the surface to eat pea
eh . anyhow the best remidy is a tspoon of epsom salts per ltr in a bowl -bucket of water from your tank with afected fish add the epsom leave fish in it for 10 -20 min and chuck the fish back in the tank and all should be well. we recomend it to our customers and works most of the time
