Hi all,

I have a few questions.

I have a 30L tank that is currently cycling. My end goal is to have 2 dwarf gouramis, and 3 or 4 sparkling gouramis. This is going roughly on the 30cm (adult size) per 30L rule.

Anyway, I'd also like to look into getting some shrimp and/or snails.

I have a few questions;

1 - How do shrimp and snails effect stocking levels? Is there a rule for how many litres a shrimp or snail needs? Or is it more a case of how much ground space is available? Obviously I won't go sticking 5 30cm snails in there!

2 - Can shrimp and snails live happily together assuming there is enough algie? Are there any shrimps or snails that shouldn't mix?

3 - Are shrimps and/or snails effected by the cycling process? (fishless cycling, using flakes)

I've not kept either before, hence my questions, so I'm sure I'll have a few more questions regarding specific species after. So many thanks for your time!

Apple snails need approximately 2.5 usg each not sure about other types sorry. shrimp dont add very much to the bio load at all

I have amano shrimp, rcs, apple snail, ramshorns, assasins and pond snails all living happily together

rcs in particulare like perfect water so I wouldnt advise adding them until your fully cycled
