Help 3 Filters 3 Tanks Not Running

hey i had a power outage for like 45 minutes earlier today.... once power came back on everything worked except the filters wouldn't start... i tried different plugss different outlets empying the filter and filling them. i have 3 different tanks and 3 different filters obviously for those tanks it has now been 6 hours i just got home from work i need any advice to ge tthme started

You might not be able to start them again if its blown any electrics in the actual filter. You might have to buy some new ones.

If they are 'slow' but still running, i find holding my finger over the outlet for a few secs gets any air out and it starts running smoothly. Or, try dismantaling and cleaning the motor. Sometimes mine have jammed.

If its completly dead, do you have you warranty? Hope you do.

What brand of filter? I have mostly Aqua Clears, sometimes the impeller needs a little shove to get moving when you plug them back in. First chect to see if the impeller is clean, filters will run with a lot of crap on the impeller or shaft, but won't start up with that crud around them.

If they are clean, give them a nudge with your finger if you can reach, or a long, clean object if you can't.

Do you have the instructions that came with them when you first got them? Might be worth trying to folow them as though starting from scratch, having checked for blockages etc.
Do the filters make ANY noise when you start them? Even if nothing seems to be happening. If not then a fuse or something has been blown and need replacing asap. Do you have them attached to socket extensions with power surge protection? If not then something blowing is a likely cause for their troubles.

ok i got them to work yesterday after some time, i had to do another detailed cleaning on two of them, the third one eventually started. maybe propellers in motor were acting funny iono. thanks everyone
