im getting a new tank next week not sure on the size yet but looking at maby 25+ gal with an external filter....not much current

this tank is to replace a much smaller one that at the moment houses various small tetras, a dwarf rainbow fish, glass cats a sparkling glass cats and a debowi cat
i really like these fish but i would like the new tank to hold dwarf cichlids and rainbow fish.......can i put chichlids and rainbow fish in with these?
i dont really want to get rid of my tetras or catfish

ohhhh someone please help

i also have a large tank (48 gal) but none of the tetras can go in there...it holds pictus and columbian sharks

thank you

Hello
first of all welcome , I',m also new and I am finding such place very interesting and helpful..

I 'm still a beginner but as far as I know, make sure that those fishes fit in your tank

your tank the 25 gallon roughly accepts around 22-24 inches of fish so if your tetra is 2 " you can put 11 to 12 tetra only in your tank ...

If you want to have small cichlids , Ramerezi are the most situable fish , that is a very peaceful fish...

Good luck and hope that I have been helpful

Kribensis demands little special care, though I do not consider it a beginners fish. They are territorial, can be extremely aggressive during breeding and can take care of their young without help from the aquarist. They can coexist with carefully chosen smaller and larger fish, however, slow and gentle fish may be injured and in extreme cases killed during breeding. Kribs are impressive swimmers; fast, agile, and have the typical cichlid ability to stop on a dime. The aggressiveness of Kribs varies; cramped aquariums, irritating tank mates, and polluted water can make them more aggressive. For the most part they spend a great deal of time at the bottom region of the tank, but will swim higher during feeding; they are active, curious, and often mischevious.
