Well,

my name is Robert and I am new in this forum. I am from Germany from a town called Leipziga and I think it will not be easy for me to use this forum, because my english skills are not so great. The second problem is the use of things like gallon, inch and feet. So I will need a calculator for posting. ;)

I have 3 tanks under my control.

First Tank: About 20 Girardinus metallicus + a nearly 100 Neocaridina spec. "Bee-shrimp" (a Freshwater-Shrimp)
Second Tank: Heterandria formosa + Cambarellus shuffeldtii
Third Tank: Neocaridina spec. "Tiger-shrimp" (also a Freshwater-Shrimp)

Questions about me are welcome. ;)

Robert

Welcome Robert,
Don't worry about metric vs. standard. We all have a knack for figuring these things out. As far as your english goes...don't worry about that either :D :D :D

Larry aka Cichlidmaster or CM for short!!

Hi,

The Freshwater-Shrimp from the genus Neocaridinia have their naturel Home in Asia, where they life in big communities in Freshwatercreeks and Lakes. The like many plants, to hide from shrimp-eating-fishes.

They are about 1,5 inch big. Female shrimps look a little bit stronger then male shrimps. Thats the only way to find out, what sex they are.

My shrimps life in a 25 gallon (100 Liter) tank, with many plants, its like a jungle. ;)
I feed them with: cucumber, tomatos, potatos, zuchini and many other vegetables.
In Sommer of course also: clover and grass

Sexual behavior:

After fertilization the female carries the eggs under its tail for 6-10 days. Then the baby-shrimps leave the egg. The mother carries the young-shrimps under its tail for further 4 days and then die shrimps are leaving their mother. And never come back. :)

Here a photo of a Bee-Shrimp made by a friend of mine.

Any Questions? ;)
