Hello, just thought i'd introduce myself before launching into queries about my poor black widow tetra :(

he's poorly indeed.

i have been fish keeping for nearly 3 years now and have only had one previous disaster (malfunctioning thermometer heated the tank sadly), but since then i have been fine...until now. one of tetra's (black widow) who i have had for 3 years, and who survived the thermometer disaster, now has a big red blotch (a bit like an ulcer) above it's gill. It has white-ish lumps/fluff within/on it, and the fish is pale but ok. I have tried changing the water partially each day, i have also tried Melafix, as well as salt and, well, everything.

it's getting bigger (the cut (?), growth (?), disease(?), none of the other fishes are affected and bless the tetra he is refusing to die.

Can anyone help me save him?

cheers
