I have been lurking for a while. But I figured it's time to come out. :)
I just got my first tank two weeks ago. My only previous experience with fish is from catching them. (I know, BOOOO, HISSS) Then my wife got our son a Betta. After a week or so I felt sorry for him in that tiny bowl. So I upgraded his home to a 10 gallon condo. And I got three Platties to keep him company. And now I got a Kuhli Loach to keep the gravel clean. So far it has been a lot of fun. And so a new addiction begins. :)

Good luck, sounds like a good set-up and be careful.....if you are already starting to look at fish with every trip to Walmart or making a side trip "just to look" and the nearest Petco or equivelent than you are already showing signs of the addiction. And whatever you do....don't say it can't happen to you! :hey:

Good luck w/ this new hobby. It really is fun and highly addictive. :D

I started off with a five gallon, then spent over $150 (no job and meager allowance) on a 55 and 10 gallon. I'm broke now, yet I still funnel all my funds into fish. (That was meant to make it seem wonderful, but it didn't... oh well :D )

Yes the addiction does happen. Started with a 15 gallon, two weeks later a 60 gallon, 6 months later a 35 gallon. I just finsihed setting up the 35 gallon and already have my eye on another tank!!!

Hi GoneFishin' and welcome to the forum :hi:

The addiction the other members are talking about is real. It's called MTS or multiple tank syndrome. :hyper:

Thank you all for the warm welcome. :D
I am already scoping out space around my house for a 29gal tank. I hope that is not a sign of becoming an addict.

Hi gonefishin,

Warning: scoping space for new aquarium is an enjoyable sign of irreversible addiction! J/K  .
