Hello!

My name is Jennifer and I'm new to this forum (as you've probably guessed). I've been in the hobby for a few years now, learning as I go. :)

I've currently got a low tech 75 gallon planted community tank - which is a loose Amazon "biotope" with just South American fish and plants, and also a 2.3 gallon planted tank which is empty except one pest snail.

I've dabbled in saltwater tanks, too.. but my tank broke and I lost everything, so I've left the salt life behind.

I'm in the process of redoing my 75 gallon tank.. and still putting the finishing touches on my little pico tank. :)

Random tidbit, my favorite fish are pencilfish..

I've included an old pic of my 75 gal tank. I let my red root floaters overgrow and had a bit of a die off with the plants, so that's why I'm rescaping!

where do you buy the plants Jen? I see the Amazon Sword are really big, do you grow them or do you buy it that big?

i bought most of the aquarium plants from Aquarium Plants Factory, there plants are high quality and free shipping.

Thank you, aquariumlover and LyraGuppi!

Aquariumlover, I bought the plants a few places.. I did buy one mother sword, but I trimmed it back quite a bit because it was actually close to like 2' tall, so that's all new growth.. it did probably take like a year to grow that large.

Some of the other plants I've bought locally at a LFS, or online through a planted tank forum (though I rarely do that anymore because most of those plants seem to come from high tech set ups). I also buy from aquariumplants.com. they do make you pay for better shipping than regular USPS, but the plants I've got from them have always been the best condition.
