Good Morning All,
After a 55 gal tank failure and a planned move to a 100 gal, I figured it was time to seek some seasoned advice, so here I am. Background: currently have a 40 gal bowfront ( common Pleco,T-Barb, Jack Dempsey), 30 gal tall (planted, 2 angels with various common community fish), 29 gal ( Salvini Cichlid and common pleco), 55 gal (Planted tank, 4 angles and various community fish). My plan is setting up the used 100 gal for my Jack, Salvini, T-Brab,1 common placo. Distribute the fish from my 55 to the 40 and 29 gal. I will take my time but expect no issues with the N cycle sine these tanks have been running a while. But I am looking for some comments on dealing with plants. The 55 is planted and I planning on uprooting for replanting in the 40 and 29. Has anybody done this...do I just do it, and hope for the best or just get all brand new plants? Any ideas? BTw the 55 gal is a glass tank and the top frame's center bar broke. I am using a 24 inch clamp to keep the front and back glass from bowing out. After the transfer maybe I'll just turn the tank into a terrarium for a rubber boa or a few lizards...;-)
