Hi everyone,

I am just introducing myself here, then Im going over the the emergency section to post up my recent crisise with a newly established aquarium.

Im not really sure what I should say here, but, I am female and very new to fish keeping, I have aspirations to master the art of keeping tropical fish, and then some day move on to red sea fish, however, this may turn out to be a mirage.

My inspiration for keeping tropical fish comes from my interaction with red sea fish with many years of snorkling in the red sea, Sinai, Egypt. In the current climate it seems unlikely I am to return to the Red Sea in the near future and Im hopingmMy fascination with the red sea creatures will eventually lead me to a most spectacular aquarium. In the meantime I am getting plenty of practice with the tropical fish, with a depressing result at present. Please see emergency section.

hey there...welcome...start off with tropical fish...strictly freshwater...then ina while go to brackish so u can see what its like to have to keep slat salinity in check...and then with skill and a LOT of money u will have your reef tank...

be warned!! reefs cost a LOOOOT of money...u can not be cheap when it comes to reefs...you will need a lot of equipment...lol thats why i stick to my freshwater fish; livebearers and cichlids...if you are looking for color and thats why u want a reef...cichlids are just as beautiful...

lol just wanted to give ya a warning about the cost...welcome to the forum...hope everyone here can help you!

Hi kitikat, welcome to the forum :) If anyone has mastered the art of keeping tropical fish lead me to them :D There are so many aspects of keeping tropical fish that I don't think that there is such a person. I myself have been into keeping large predatory fish that I have forgotten how to properly stock a small community tank.

The marine fish and inverts that come from the Red Sea have more color than from other sources? Stuff that comes form the Red Sea seem to cost more.

Hiya kitikat,

Just wanted to welcome another female fish keeper. I'm new to the whole thing myself, only joined about a week ago. Great that you've got a goal to aim at. If you kept your fish in the bath you could go diving whenever you wanted
best wishes
