Hi there folks, I'm new here and I want to thank everyone who responded so quickly to my red worm question.
I have a blue crayfish called Blues Cousin (Blues Brothers' cousin :)) I've had him for about 4 months since I got tired of fish... I wanted something different. Check him out at the pictures forum.

Hi devis...Welcome to the forum :D ...nice little blue crayfish ya got  ...are you thinking about getting him some tankmates?

I dont know... so far he's all alone. He isn't very agressive but since these animals are very territorial, after being in there for such a long time alone he may kill whatever I put in there. I may put something after his next moult, probbably an Oscar.

I'm not sure, but won't the Oscar try to eat your little guy? Maybe check with Cichlidmaster about that. Have you thought about an Invertrabrate tank, maybe some different types of shrimp or snails or crabs, if you could find some that get along It could be pretty sharp little community B)

i went out and got myself a cray today i have it in the quarantine tank so i hope i dont have any diseased fish anyways just thaught id let you all know and will get some pics of it when it decides to come out of hideing ive given it a nice bit of bogwood to live under. incidentally when i was taking the bogwood out of the big tank my small red crab fell out and skuttled along the floor.  :*) . i put it back with a new peice of bogwood that provides a better hiding place for the fish. i wish i had a smart camera to take pics of all thease fish last time i tryed i just got blank negatives and the photo people just laughed at me.

I dont think the oscar will eat him... he's almost full grown now. Besides, he survived a cat attack :) 3 times... and now, oodly enough my cat is scared of him hehehe

As far as getting more shellfish... it's a good idea but I dont know what species would live with what species. Also my tank is small, 10 gallons. I would like to learn more about these creatures as I have a desire to start breeding when I get a bigger tank. Also, I am leaving for a 2 week road trip on June 29 around the good ole' US of A, thus I'd rather get more aquatic life when I return so I can monitor it closely.
