Hey guys,
I've been trying to find a good forum fit for me. I've been on local forums but there's not enough users for my liking. Excited to meet you all and learn! Well, currently my girlfriend and I have 1 tank (Down from 3... We caught MTS early and it hit hard) 3 was fun but we're working more and planning on moving in about 6months so we gave away our 29g (To my pops and little brother who turned it into a game fish tank. I'll try and get photos. They have 3 dwarf sun fish) and a 5g to my girlfriends coworker who wanted to get her boy a birthday gift. That was cool. They have a betta in there now.  I've kept livebearers when I was young in a 8gal hex some swordfish and then didn't touch the hobby until 5 years ago when I bought my first betta, cup of joe. He passed at age 4. I was an alcoholic and a terrible pet owner. For the last year of his life he had the 29g. I tried making up for my neglect. Now, with the help of fishkeeping and gold prospecting I've been sober for over a year and a half! We have some red ludwigia and an anubias for plants now. I tried frogbit but didn't have luck. I also had water sprite but I liked the ludwigia more and just stuck with it. I'm going to add moss to the driftwood when I get some cash. As for fish we have 1 Betta male, our little price "Little guy" a red rili and a fire red shrimp. Oh can't forget the Malaysian trumpet snails. I'm not new yet i'm not an expert. We're learning everyday. I know about the nitrogen cycle and do 2 20% water changes a week. Mondays and Thursdays. I find it keeps things cleaner and the shrimp really appreciate it I hope. We hung a calendar next to the tank to log water changes. Anyway, thanks for listening and thanks in advance for the welcomes! Questions comments are greatly appreciated!

These aren't recent pictures. These were taken after the tank had cycled when we introduced Little guy to his new home!

Welcome to the forum, Corey, I hope you soon feel at home here :)

Congratulations on your eighteen months of being sober, good for you :good:

Thank you very much! I love the forum already! I've even done some research from this site on my crappy flip phone lol so I'm stoked. I get addicted to fish forums almost as bad as fish keeping!

and a big congratulations! Hope you enjoy it here. Lovely betta!

Thanks! This was the day we got him. Do you guys think that's maybe fin rot where it's transparent? It went away after a couple of weeks. I used some aloe Vera infused DE chlorinator after I saw this pic. Back to regular stuff. He's such an interesting fish, when I look at him from above the tank he gazes back. We love him soo much!

Welcome aboard!  Just curious, what kind of sand did you use in the pictures you posted?
