Fish Fanatic
Hi all im a noob here, My name is Tim.
Ive had a smallish koi pond for 1 year, kept it as a goldfish pond for many years befor that and still have some of the 4+ generations of goldfishs crossbreeds from colours of pure white, orange, yellow, white/orange, orange/black, orange/black/white! ect ect with all shape fins from comets to standard.
Now they are in my secondary pond and i have 10 koi (5-6") 5 golden orfe and 5 golden rudd in the main pond.
I help out with my girlfriends tropical tank all the time (3 angel fish and about 10 xray fish) and have just today bought a large aquarium for myself, 90cm long by 37cm tall by 30cm.
I was going to get a smaller tank but when i saw this brand new in a discount pet store for under 1/2 the price ive seen a tank that size anywhere else i got it. "Clearseal" aswell so good quality.
This new large tank expands my choices of what i want to put into it. ive got experience of tropical fish from my girlfriends tank (i almost run it truth be told, checking nitrates and teperatures ect) and a good understanding of coldwater fish from my koi pond so i could...
A: Koi tank, keep small koi carp and orfe in it to observe them, then release them into my pond when they get abit big
B: Nateral british fish tank, a small tench, some 2" roach maybe a few small perch hidden amoungst some sunken branches up one end of the tank.
C: Tropical fish tank, Tiger barbs ect
Whatever i do il be here asking alot of questions
