Hi all,

Love joining such an interesting and knowledgeable site.

Current set up from a jewel 125 to a trigon 190l corner unit last week, last night upgraded to a aqua manta 1000u filter and everything seems to be running lovely.

My plans,

I have no plants at all in the 190 as my current tank mates eat them all the time and i have bvery limited knowledge of what i can and cant have along with what will survive,  So this is currently a "plastic tank", unless i can find some info on how and what to plant without them being eaten also want some more fish in there with colors :)

However, i have the old 125l that as im sure you all have done.. i was going to sell. Nope now i want to reset that up for my wife and son, this is going to be very well planted and have lots of "icckle" neons, swordtails, guppies etc. something nice and simple to provide hours of fun for the little man and the wife (apparently my tank gets more attention than her) so now she can have her own.

I will be using this site to find plants etc that can go in 125l for the smalls and 190 for my bigger ones along with other questions as i come up with them.

Thanks all, very good site.

3 x pearl cichlids (1 Male 2 Female)
3 x pictus catfish (1 Male 2 Female)
6 x filament barbs
3 x black ruby barbs
2 x tiger barbs
2 x melon barbs

Presumably the filament barbs are the culprits, although the Geophagus will probably dig them up unless they are in pots. Hard to see a way roud it without either settling for no live plants, or getting rid of the filamentosa.

I had a Trigon 350 tank once, great tank but access to far corner or bottom of tank was annoying due to the size

One small addition, your barbs will be better off in groups of at least 8 as they are fairly agressive (especailly the tiger barbs) and having larger numbers may help to reduce aggressive behaviour towards tank mates.

Then again if you stock at least 8 of each specie of barbs, you will then be overstocked :/
