I have just found your forum pages after searching for info on female guppies and fry etc. I have an 80 ltr tank with 4 female guppies, 1 male, 2 platys (male) and 10 neons, oh and lots of little snails which came as freebies with my plants.
I found the info that Darren(?) wrote on what happens with a pregnant guppy and found it really useful, so thanks for that.
I am new to tropical fish, but have kept cold water for several years. Nice and easy, just bung a bit of food in, clean out once a month and bob's your uncle.
Found the tropical fish a little more complicated than that, but very worthwhile. I have an excellent fish shop to use, who gives lots of useful information, but I found it weird to picture when a female guppy may drop her load, what to expect and when to know its gonna happen.
All 4 of my females are preggers and 1 dropped her load a couple of days ago, unfortunately I missed it cos was ill in bed. Looked in the tank yesterday to find 2 very small and transparent fry gaily avoiding the snapping jaws of all the other fish. So today went a bought a 10 litre tank and have bunged them in this with same tank water, plants and gravel. Looking good!
Anyway, am pleased to have found this site and have found so much useful information here, keep up the good work and info sharing.
