Hello All, New To The Forums

Back in July I bought my son a 10g tank along with 5 platys. About 3 weeks later 3 platys died and two survived. I think the three that died were 2 orange mickey mouse and 1 black. The two orange ones who survived had around 15 or so babies about a month later. 
 
I decided to get a bigger tank for them. I cruised craigslist and also facebook. I seen a lady post for a free 29g tank. I jumped all over it and now I have a 29g tank with about 17+ platys swimming around. Heres a pic of what I'm dealing with:

hopefully you cycled your tank before adding fish---if you didn't then you are now cycling with fish and need to do water changes to keep ammonia and nitrite and nitrates levels down---do you have a test kit?
