heeeere's shorty!

=D because i'm quite silly and have heard of people keeping two happy ADF's with a single betta in a gallon tank, i rescued an ADF boy from Wal-Mart.

i have named him Shorty and he has invaded Pierce's bachelor pad Pierce doesn't mind, he seems to like the company and Shorty seems to like having his *OWN* corner to sit in, rather than dog-piling on all the other ADF's in the tank.

does anyone have an experience with ADF's and bettas? i need to do a lot of research before Shorty decides to die on me and I still haven't figured out what he should eat

DAF's like things to hide under and you may not see him alot for awhile until he gets used to his new home. But eventually they become braver and come out in the open more, especially at feeding time. Mine love frozen bloodworms. It is the only thing they will eat.

I have had my frogs for about 3 or so months now. I just my betta on Sept. 2nd. I put the betta and the two frogs in my 1.66 gallon tank for about a week or so until I decided to put the betta in the main tank, so the frogs got to go back in the main tank too, that way the fry could go in the small tank.

The ADF's got along quite well with the betta. They are still in a tank together to this day. They get along very well. The mollies are the ones who are butts to them...always eating there food.


As for food, I feed my frogs algae waffers, TetraMin Variety Waffers, and freeze dried bloodworms. But they seem to prefer the waffers (both kinds) to the bloodworms because the waffers sink...and they like to eat on the bottom. The will eat at the top sometimes, but that is usually only when they go up for air and realize that there is food up there.


The frogs like to be kept at between 76-84° F (don't know what that is in C ). So if you don't have a heater, make sure they are kind of by a lamp or something for heat.

The frogs, as well as the betta, like to hide, so I would get a small cave like thing if I was you. They have small little $2 ones at Wal-Mart...that is what I got mine...they love it!

shorty and pierce are getting along fine =) shorty cleans up the tank, pierce follows him around like he's a little kid who needs to be hawk-watched. shorty seems to enjoy hiding in a little hole he's made, or dancing around the thermometer, or sitting on the big plant it's so funny to look for him and not see him, and then find out he was right in front of my nose.
