ive divided a 10g tank for 2 bettas but my question is my
heater cud i put the heater in 1 section of the tank or does it have 2
go through both section 2 get the water heated properly 4 both sides
thanks

It probably depends on what kind of divider you have and what type filtration. If the divider has holes or slots for water to pass through and your filter is moving enough water, I guess you could probably get by with one heater. I'm not really sure though. With the lights on and our normal room temperature, our betta tanks stay about 76 degrees without a heater. I am getting ready to get heaters for them so when we start running the AC in the summer, the water won't get too cool.

my divider as got slots in it and im going to try the biofoam45 filter
i really need a heater i think cus temp drops in my house ive got a built in lite in the hood as well

If your divider has slots in in...would seem to reason you'd only need one heater. You shouldn't use the light as a heater...they need some "dark" time to themselves for atleast 8-10 hours a day (just like you do).

You also might want to scuff the divider up, if it's clear or shiny, or devise some other way so it isn't clear or shiny...so your boys can't constantly see each other, or their own reflection, all the time though, will keep them happier.

yes the divider is scuffed ive set my tank up now 1 heater is ok just going 2 leave it awhile now b4 i put my bettas in thanks 4 ur replies

Mmm well,I have a MiniBow 2.5 and a had a divider with two bettas, and a 100W All-Glass-Aquarium heater. The divider had holes and I had no filtration but I also had a hood with light so I think it was good

I think you need a hood to keep the heat in,takes no genius there lol :p
