Am I right in thinking I need two 300w heaters?

What heater does everyone recommend?

Yep two 300W is your best option, I'd go for either Jager, Vistitherm or Fluval Tronics for internals or the hydor external heaters if your running two externals and want to save space inside the tank

I like rena, wouldnt buy anything else for an internal

Thanks, I was torn between the Rena and the Visitherm. I guess it depends what they have at the fish shop I'm going to tomorrow as to which I go for :)

Hiya's,

Or, have a look at the Hydor 300w externals (less clutter in the tank and more efficient as you won't get cold-spots, obviously need to be running external filter/s)

T'is what i'm doing now, actually in this barmy uk weather i'm trying to cope with high water temps so gotta rig up some fans asap

But, always a but aint there, i cannot fault the rena smart heaters, used em, love em, and reliable

Tony

Thanks, I ended up getting two Fluval E300 heaters in the end. I am pleased with them as they have a digital thermometer coloured display, and also a guard all round to protect the fish :)
