Heating Betta Tanks

Either one would heat a 5gal tank good - but 2-3. . . I don't know.

General rule - 5w per gallon.

I've used these on 2/3 gallon with no problems, it takes the temperature up a reasonable notch (as long as your room is warm) and is great for non glass tanks as you don't have the worry of it damaging the perspex.

Thanks thats what i was hopeing.I have Perspex tanks and the water temp is sitting at 68 without any heat but if we get a really cold spell it will drop lower.I was worried about using normal heaters in perspex tanks

I got one in my little glass bowl I paid about a tenner for it with postage from aquabid. It doesnt stay stuck on side as betta gets inbetween heater and glass! Its ok though!

I have a 2G (well I think its 2G) tank and I have a 50W heater, and it's perfectly fine!
