Is there a difference between using a submersible heater and one of those heaters that hangs from the side of your aquarium? If there is, then which heater would be better to use.
I'm just guessing right not but I think the majority of you may say submersible heaters...

Submersable is definitely better (and usually more expensive). You need to put them as close to horizontal as you can as this will allow more evenlly distributed heat throughout the tank. I try to place them down low in the tank so that they get hidden behind other objects.

If you can, try to look for heater manufactured by Ebo Jager. If not, Visi Therm or Tronics is also ok...
