Heater

I have a 5 gallon tank and a dead heater. I need to replace as it's my hospital tank and I have someone to move in. How do I know how big of a heater I need? My fish store has a 50 and a 100 on for cheap.

i think at 5 watts/gallon, you would only need a 25 watt, but maybe you could get away with the 50 watt...

I use a 25 watt Visa-Therm heater in my 7 gallon and that seems to work well for that tank. I would say that there were only a couple weeks this Michigan winter I wish I had a 50 watt.
