i ahve a heater and it says on the packet that it is for 50 - 100 litres but the tank i got is 36x12x15 im not too sure on the volume etc but think its about 105 litres will it be ok to use it?
also i have a piece of wood i my tank taht makes the water appear naswty and orangey whouls i get rid of it it takes a lot of space and is ruining the water colour the wood is a very nice shape though!

nah i didnt, i had one but it didnt sink, then i changed it with my LFs for one that did but it was wet and i assumed that it had already been done.
hows it going witht the tank? you still got all three sharks? i didnt think that you read my replay on your photo thread i was wondering what conditions you haevb in your tank fotr the RTBS i now have one ad i want to get it as black as possible and as healthy as possible.
it might be the lighting i have an ordinary light noe the ones for aquariums i want to get a flouresent one what light do you have?

Your tank is a little over 100 litres so the heater should be fine.

Bogwood doesnt "need" soaking for weeks, people only do this to release the tannins before they add the piece to the tank, others who like the tannin effect (like me) deliberately buy new pieces from time to time so that the water remains coloured. The tannin wont harm fish but if you dont like it running some carbon in the filter will remove most of it.

Hey CFC - swap you a piece :D I'm sooooo bored of soaking mine....

JK - its almost clear again now in fact - but it took ages....That said if you have any old bits you want rid of now they are out of tannin....
