Hi there. I have a 50 litre fish tank, and have been using an Interpet Deltatherm heater at 100W, which states is for 45-90 litres. It has been great, worked very well. But have found these one fog up inside the glass. Obviously I don't trust that. I have had two now and they do the same thing, right from the first moment I put them in the water and turn them on. So, I wanted to change to using an Elite Submersible heater. However, their 50W one says it's for 50 litres. 100W for 100 litres etc. Do I stick with 100W as that's what I've been using with the Deltatherm one? Or should I follow Elite's instructions of 50W being the right one for my tank?

Thanks!

1watt per litre is the generall guide line, but If you can get the 100w then go for that one as it will be on less and in theory should last longer. I have an elite heater, it's excellent!

Thanks very much :) I have now bought the Elite 100W on your advice. Found it at a great price on ebay.

Good on ya! :) It's the 100w model i have and it is running a 55 litre tank. :) It's a nice looking heater too as far as heaters go. lol.
