can i use a 25 watt heater for my acrylic 5 gallon tank?
i heard it could melt if it got too hot so i dont kno wat to do, and in the michigan can get really cold.

A 25 watt heater shouldn't get too hot, even when it switches on. Assuming it's a thermostat heater it should only actually switch on for a few minutes at a time. Acrylic has pretty high temperature resistance - they use in in those massive ocean tanks with 350 watt heaters in them.

I have 3 acrylic tanks- two 2.5 gallons and one 5 gallon. I have heaters in all and no problems. The heaters do not come into contact with the acrylic :) because of the way they are designed with the suction cups at the back, etc. So no worrys.
