Why is it that my Jewel Trigon 350 (350 Litres) comes as standard with a 300watt heater when everywhere I look 300watt heaters are only recommended for tanks up to 300 litres. I am only asking because I am seriously looking at going for a Hydor external heater and they only go up to 300 watt. From what I can tell I should have a 350watt heater at least. Help I am really confused.

You cannot get a 350 W heater

You would probably be ok with the 300w external if your tank is in a warm room .

Otherwise you might have to use another internal in conjunction with i

Thanks

As long as the tank isn't in a cooler area of the house, such as the basement, 300 watts should be fine. Often people will use an undersized heater just in case it sticks in the on position.
