I have just had one of my swords give birth to what seems like a million young, at the moment they are still in the birth tank, with the mother removed floating in my main tank, I want to set up a seporate tank until they are large enough to introduce back into the main tank, I have a speate heater (150 watt) what would be the smallest tank i could use this in?

any advise would be much apreciated as the little guys are growin pretty quick

3 gallon probably or something like that. how are you goimg to filter it? you could either move some media out of your existing one of do a 50% water change twice a day just taking 50% out of the small tank and putting it in your main tank and then put the water out of your main tank back in etc.

ste :)

btw. a filter would be better though ;)

I was thinking of building up the tank with water changes from the main tank and running a small fuval filter, ive got a spare 2.5 foot tank but abit to big for those little dudes i think, id never find them in there.

2.5' is fine. the only problem I can see is feeding them, they may not get the food. you could get a divider and partition it of to smaller tanks and put a pipe on the out put of the fluval so it pumps water to one end and let it flow back etc

ste :)
