I'm not new to the hobby but I am new to fish tank heaters since I live in a tropical country.

My question is: Can I put the heater on the bottom of a "fish tank"? It's a temporary hospital "tank" and is a round plastic tub so the heater can't stick to the sides.

Yeah that should be fine.

Depending on the fish there might be some concerns about fish resting on the heater and getting burnt but in my opinion they don't get hot enough to do any damage and fish aren't stupid enough to sit on something that is hurting them.

If its a bottom dwelling fish just make sure it has space in the tub to rest without being in contact with the heater.

There's only guppies and goldfish so it should be fine- Thank you!

What @xxBarneyxx says!
If you're going to invest in a heater, get one that you can adjust the temperature setting.
