Heater Placement Question

Does the heater have to be in the center of the tank or can I put it in the corner?

it is a 55 gallon glass tank. The heater is fully submersible.

It doesn't matter at all if you have a filter (water movement).

Because of the size of your tank, I would place it either near the inlet, or outlet of the filter, so the warm water gets "blown" around.... or use more than one heater !
