I recently set up my tank after haveing to take it down. When I took everything down the heater worked fine, keeping my temp at 77 for years. Now that I have set it back up it will not maintain the temp I want, specifically it is over-heating even when I have it turned all the way down to 71,the minimum setting. The heater is a hydor theo heater 300w,I still have the box,but I have managed to lose the directions.I can't remember if it was this heater or the one I sold with an old setup that had a way to reset the dial or thermostat.
Anyone have this heater and the direction still or know anything about it?

Bassano del Grappa, January 2010

Hydor Srl, asks all customers who have bought Theo 300W aquarium heater with batch numbers 928 - 929 – 938 (June - October 2009) and Theo 400W aquarium heater with batch numbers 926 - 931 – 938 to stop using the product immediately and take it to the store where purchased. After routine life tests, it was discovered that a supply of the special glass tubes used to produced the mentioned batches was faulty. The defect could cause irregular functioning of the heating element that could burn or cause the glass to crack. Up to now only 4 cases were reported (2 in USA and 2 in Italy).

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

For any further information, please contact us by either the contact form on this website, writing to us at hydorusa.office@hydor.com, sending us a fax at 916-920-5522 or calling us at 916-920-5222, we will get back to you with detailed instructions on how to have your heater exchanged.

no reset sorry, just a duff heater. if the above does not apply, you need a new one. its a common fault that happens to, nearly, all Aqua heater makers.

Ah,mine is not near those numbers,I'll just have to buy a new one.Thanks.

I have a faulty 25W theo with exactly the same problem and it's not even a year old! looks like it may be water ingress as there is condensation in the tube, needless to say I have now purchased a new heater of a different make! though I do still have a 100w one that seems to be ok at the mo
