Are these a good (read reliable) brand of heater? If so, is this a reasonable price?

I've never used a clearseal product other than an internal sponge filter, so I can't really say as to reliability.
as for the price they are slightly cheaper than visitherms and other bottom range heaters, so take that as you will.

Ta. I'm in the market for a heater for a small 31 L tank (so not a lot) and am looking for a mixture of quality and price. Being new to this they all look the same on the shelf to me

When it comes to heaters, step up and buy the quality ones.

Go with a subnersible, but get one of the tittanium covered ones. Don't have to worry about your decor busting it.

Visetherm makes a quality heater at a good price. Very accurate, reliable. Original is glass and new model covered with plastic, unbreakable, needed with big nasty cichlids. Check www.petsmart.com and www.drsfostersmith.com for really good prices.

Agree Clearseal are good products.

I have 2 of them and have not let me down (Yet.)

I also know someone who uses them on Reted equipment die to their realiability.

Heres an article from Practical Fishkeeping magazine, they compare and test lots of different heaters, its a good article with lots of heater tips as well as tests, Vistatherm comes out tops in their tests.............anyway worth reading if your in the market for a new heater, the page is a bit slow loading but will load eventually.

I would have to agree with steelhealr. Ebo Jagers are great. My temp never flucuates like it use to with a cheap heater.
